Kirinyaga Yetu — Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 27 May 2026
This is a working draft for Kirinyaga Yetu and should be reviewed by a qualified advocate before launch. By using the app you agree to these terms.

1. About these Terms

These Terms govern your use of the Kirinyaga Yetu application and the services offered through it. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

2. Who may sell

At this stage, only registered co-operative societies and registered businesses may apply to become sellers. Applicants must provide accurate registration details and may be required to verify their identity and documents. Verified individual sellers may be admitted in a later phase.

2a. Seller membership fee

Approved sellers pay a recurring membership fee (currently KSh 500 every 45 days) to keep selling active. The amount is shown before payment, and there is no sales commission. If the fee lapses, selling is paused until it is renewed — access resumes on payment. Fees are non-refundable.

3. Your account

Keep your login details secure and provide accurate information. You are responsible for activity under your account. One account per person or entity.

4. Seller obligations

Sellers must only list goods they are legally entitled to sell, with accurate descriptions and prices, and must comply with all applicable laws — including county trade licensing (e.g. Single Business Permit), and Agriculture & Food Authority and food-safety requirements where relevant.

5. Prohibited items & conduct

You may not list prohibited or restricted items (see the Prohibited Items policy) or engage in fraud, misrepresentation, harassment or any unlawful activity.

6. Our role (intermediary)

Kirinyaga Yetu is a neutral platform that connects buyers and sellers. We are not the seller, we do not own the goods listed, and we are not a party to any transaction between users. We do not currently process payments — users transact directly and at their own risk.

7. Listings & moderation

We may review, reject, or remove any listing and may suspend accounts that breach these Terms or the law. Listings may be screened automatically, and reported content is handled on a notice-and-takedown basis.

7a. Strikes & suspension

Sellers who breach these Terms or the Prohibited Items policy may receive a warning, then time-bound suspensions (typically 7 then 30 days), and a permanent ban for serious or repeated violations. Suspended sellers cannot list during a suspension.

8. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, Kirinyaga Yetu is not liable for losses arising from transactions or dealings between users. The service is provided on an "as is" basis without warranties.

9. Your content

You retain ownership of the content you post and grant us a licence to display it within the app for the purpose of operating the service.

10. Suspension & termination

We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these Terms or applicable law, or to protect users and the platform.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Kenya, and disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the Kenyan courts.

12. Changes & contact

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use means you accept the changes. Contact: mykirinyaga.support@gmail.com
